VNQ expands free membership to include For-Profit organisations

VNQ free membership

In an innovative move, VNQ has opened up its membership to include For-Profit organisations. Everyone can now become members of Volunteering North Queensland and gain the same great benefits and membership is FREE.

Manager, Jacqui Bekker said “Our free membership offer is part of a wide ranging restructure of our membership and volunteer referral services. This was undertaken to meet the changing needs of the volunteering world, the needs of organisations using our volunteer referral services, and future volunteering trends.”

Membership benefits include voting rights at the Annual General Meeting, news about our free training workshops before they are publicised, as well as volunteering sector and relevant business information (including grants). Members will also receive a discounted price on any ticketed events. “We can also provide individuals and Not-For-Profit members with letters of support upon request,” Jacqui said. (Conditions apply).

Not-For-Profit organisations who are members can also purchase Volunteer Referral Service package to help fill their volunteer roles. This paid service is based on how many volunteer positions an organisation wishes to advertise concurrently over a 12 month period.

“We find enthusiastic volunteers by marrying their skills and interests with positions that fulfill these requirements. Volunteer positions are posted on our website and on other state and national volunteer web portals and we actively seek volunteers to fill positions via our communication platforms and social media.

With these changes we believe we have found a great solution to ensure we continue to provide an even better service in sourcing volunteers for Not-For-Profits; providing access to free training sessions and workshops to everyone in our community and improving and expanding our volunteer management resources,” Jacqui said.
