Eat Up’s mission is to feed hungry students so they can grow, learn and succeed. We are working hard to end classroom hunger in Australia by providing free lunches to kids in need. Sandwiches are made with the help of volunteers from the general community, schools and corporate organisations, with food donated from our corporate partners. Sandwich making sessions are fast and fun, with volunteers making thousands of sandwiches in under an hour. Sandwiches are delivered fresh to schools, who freeze them until they are needed. Teachers toast up sandwiches, and hand them out discreetly. Sandwiches are free of “Eat Up” branding, to prevent children being stigmatised or feeling embarrassed.
– Corporate organisations can provide space for us to run sandwich making sessions in their offices with their staff.
– Community Groups and Schools can provide space for us to run sandwich making sessions.
– Individuals can attend public volunteering sessions and help fundraise for us.
– Venues can provide space for us to run sessions.
We come to you with the ingredients which have been transport in our refrigerated vans, ready for you to put the sandwiches together.
We make cheese sandwiches which are delivered to schools fresh, for them to be frozen on site. This gives teachers the control to distribute their stock and minimising waste. They also toast them in winter.
We work with schools grade 6 and above, with younger children able to attend public events when supervised.
